About Us
Reliance Scrap Metal (formerly Walter Shaw and Son) is one of the south's leading scrap metal merchants. Its first premises was located at the rear of the Antelope hotel in Poole High Street in 1925. Since then, the business progressivly developed its various services to customers throughout the south. However, scrap metal collection and recycling remains the predominant activity of the company.
Further expansion of the business neccessitated a move to larger premises and, in 1971, a new purpose built yard was aquired on the Nuffield Industrial Estate, Poole.
The Company continues to expand and flourish under the direction of David Matthews and Michael Anderson, winning multiple contracts in all industries including the likes of the stricken container ship MSC Napoli.
